What is Biofeedback?
Simply put, biofeedback training involves the uses of electronic equipment that feeds information back to the person about what changes are occurring in his or her body. The feedback loop is the person interacting with the machine.
So, if you have used a mirror, a bathroom scale to weigh yourself, or even taken your temperature with a thermometer, you have already had experience with biofeedback.. The difference is, that clinically biofeedback uses specific instruments and protocols to address a variety of issues or problems that have been resistant to traditional therapy or medications. Often, physicians will refer patients or patients refer themselves for help with these issues.
