Specialized Therapy Techniques

"Therapy is a conversation with a purpose while clinical hypnosis and imagery techniques are defined as a trance with a purpose."

Can anyone go into trance?
Hypnotic states are normal and we all go in and out of a hypnotic brain wave (theta) in the course of our day.  We may simply not be aware of it.

Can you incorporate these and other specialized techniques into coaching aids?

Yes.   Coaching helps clients to clarify and move forward toward their goals. Or it can be a vehicle to teach coping mechanisms and tools to those diagnosed, eg with  ADD or ADHA,   You can learn methods of training or re-training your body and mind to do what you'd like it to do.  For example, you can learn to relax the muscles around an area of pain, or deepen your sleep or lower your blood pressure.  The applications are many.  Please call if you have question about whether we can help you.

What if I go into trance, will you be able to bring me out of it?

Yes!  I am not aware of any known case in history that involved a person going into hypnotic trance and not waking up!   This is a myth.

What is the difference between Guided Imagery, Visualization and Hypnosis?

I practice all of these techniques, and each one has a different nuance, a slight difference in effect.  Since each client is different, I choose according to how the client thinks, what the problem is, and what will work best for them.  Guided Imagery is more interactive by nature. You can and often do talk back to me while in trance.  Visualization is often taught to the client, who then uses it at home on their own.    Hypnosis comes in many varieties: permissive or authoritarian; direct or indirect; clinical or behavior modification.

Change comes when you decide to change- and when you find the correct therapeutic                                                                           strategy.
